So a new second hand games shop opened up near us this week and we decided to take a look. A quick (i.e. two trips of at least 30 minutes each) whizz around produced some good stuff for very little cash; looks like we’ll be going back there.
The shelf is heaving from new things, and things yet to be completed. Having just played Little King’s Story for an hour and a bit (quite good fun so far, but just at the end of the tutorial really), I thought I’d take a game break and update here what I’m at. Lots of things on the go, so in order of ‘importance’ here’s where I am:
1 - Final Fantasy IV : DS - Yup, back to this. I took a long break for a stupid reason (which was I didn’t want to complete it too quickly..!) and now I’m back on it. It’s so good, that less than 10 minutes into it, I realised I was going to hammer it until it was done, and I’m thoroughly enjoying it, grinding bits and all. It’s a great remake of a great game (see, I’ve really done this once already).
2 - inFamous : PS3 - I’ve really just started this, but it’s calling me from the shelf. I only didn’t play this tonight because Jen isn’t into watching it.
3 - Gears of War : XBox 360 - I played one session of this and left it for a while but it is calling back to me now. We’re getting some surround sound stuff soon, and it’ll allow me to plug the XBox in without having to mess about with cables (as well as everything sounding better), so I’ll get back to this once I have the set-up all set up.
4 - Final Fantasy CC: My Life as a Darklord : Wii - I’m about three levels from the end and I took a break (again, because I didn’t want to finish it, what IS that about?). Back to it!
5 - A Boy and His Blob : Wii - Wonderful game I’m at the half way mark of. It’s one of those ‘play a level during a quiet evening’ games I’d like to get back to.
6 - Kingdom Hearts : PS2 - When I get the feeling for this back, I’m bound to hammer it.
7 - Mushroom Wars : PS3 - I’m stuck on the final level of this great (but frustrating) game.
Which leaves in ‘started but not finished’:
DS: Advance Wars Dark Conflict, Exit, FFCC: Ring of Fates, Pokémon Pearl, Populous, Scribblenauts, Soul Bubbles
Wii: deBlob, Geometry Wars Galaxies, Lego Star Wars, Little King’s Story, New Super Mario Bros Wii, Red Steel, Spyborgs, Super Mario Galaxy
PS3: Assassin’s Creed, Little Big Planet
XBox: Mass Effect, everything Guitar Hero/Rock Band (it’d be really cool to say I finished one!)
And in the ‘new and not tried yet’ zone I have: Bayonetta, Mini Ninjas, Mirror’s Edge, No More Heroes, Madworld, Mario and Luigi Bowser’s Inside Story, Fallout 3, Eternal Sonata and Metal Gear Solid IV.
Hmm, that’s like 35 games! Ha!
Oh, and I received an email today saying this blog is one year old. Happy Birthday blog. It’s a bit of a shame to see games still on the ‘not done’ list that were on the ‘I want to do these list I first wrote!’. Ah well.
